I don't know about a worldwide day and time for a Yashica click-fest. But how about some examples of what your Yashica can do?

Here's one I just scanned. The Arno river in Florence, on a cloudy, snowy day In Italy, 2/22/05.

One advantage to Florence this time of year.....the Arno has some water.

here's one from my GS, which I've had for about a month now. It was this series and a roll of color I shot that made me really like these cameras. The over/slow indicators on my camera require that I "pump" the release to wake them up, they're a little flaky (a cleaning maybe?). I'm not a big fan of not being able to have more exposuure control and not knowing the shutter speed, but I love the fast lens and the look. 😛

The Yashica overall, although I obtained good results with the QL17. I I like the larger size, and the available light abilities of the GSN.

This Yashica forum got me thinking, I have not used any of mine in a while 🙁 , so I got my 35CC out, disassembled it to clean some haze out of the RF window and shot a couple rolls with it today. Nice images, Todd. Great light. I need to find some repair/maintenance information for Yashicas, so that I can take care of some of the little issues I have with mine.

It's a pity I don't have my own scanner. Today I developed the first pictures I took with my Lynx 14E and it appeared to work perfectly. The pictures show great contrast and sharpness.

I dug my GSN out of my local camera store's junk box. I paid $2.00 for it and $1.00 for a 55mm hood. A little vinegar in the battery compartment, a new 6volt battery and a small wad of Aluminum foil and it was good to go.

OK, here's one from my newly repaired Professional:

The star burst is light reflecting off the polished marble obelisk - I was interested to see if I could capture this without suffering from too much flare. I think the result is quite encouraging. The film is an off-brand 400asa special, but may actually be 3M.

Overall, I'm very happy with this camera - particularly the low-light performance and accuracy of the meter. I also got a GTN which is the next one for a test roll - if it's as good as the Pro, it will be another keeper!

I seem to have caught the Electro bug - I have a GSN in a state of complete dissassembly and a GT on its way from the US. Now, if I can just snag a CC......

I would say that is excellent handling of flare with an Electro. I have learned to avoid shooting towards the sun, even with a hood.
