This is sort of a follow-up/addition to the other thread on Canon 50mm/1.2 lens.
A while back, I was sort of seduced by those threads about simplifying camera kits, one camera one lens, etc. So I thought i'd sell some of the extra lenses I had. And I did. Canon 50mm/1.2 was one of them. It took me a while to even make up my mind to list it, as I do really like this lens. However, I have several other 50mm lenses, so to classifieds here it went. Person who wanted to buy it backed out last minute, so I figured it was a sign for me to keep it. I did not re-list it, yet just put it on a shelf, as I was more into wide lenses lately as well as MF. Well, for Keith's 14 day one camera/one lens project, after a lot of thought, I went for a Canon 50/1.2. And after I see the pictures - I'm glad I still have it. Guess this lens and I still have some pics in our future. 😉 Here are some latest ones - all at 1.2, btw. (some were already posted in other thread):

No. 2 portrait is exellent!....once got one of these lenses on a '7' body, but quickly sold it, as I was not too impressed with the first results....begining to wish I'd persevered! 🙁

Just curious as to what sharpening settings you're using. The pictures look very "hard" if that's the right term.

I love the first shot with the dog and the last shot on the sofa...
That last shot has some nice light and texture...your model also struck a great pose...

Krosya, those shots just blew me away! Excellent, excellent. You're my new hero. But I'm sure you could do similar work with an FSU lens and a Fed. My wife walked in and said much the same adding "you should get that camera." As if that was the solution to mediocre photos... Then again, it might be my chance in a lifetime to get a new lens guilt free! 😀

That portrait on the couch is really beautiful, nice work!

Honestly, I accept the notion that the Noct is a "better" lens, but the Canon really does have a "signature" bokeh and softness that truly flatters some subjects. On a crop sensor camera, it's a superb portrait lens. And it is quite sharp stopped down as well.

Great shots Krosya,I very much appreciate your posting.Along with Gabriel.M.A. you have both shown that this lens, the Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM, is a very underated lens and is worthy of more use on our cameras.
As far as I am concerned it is the best value for money in fast 50's, and considering the current price of the Noctilux,it's an absolute bargain.
Let's have more photo's posted on these two current Canon 50mm f/1.2 threads on the Canon Forum.
Anybody fancy opening a "CANON 50mm f/1.2 Ltm Diary" and give us their experience of using this lens on a day to day basis with photo's and notes similar to the "Noctilux Diary" on the Leica M forum?.

Well, I use Photoshop Elements and just use "sharpen" function - so whichever pre-set setting it has - thats all. I didnt enter any specific settings myself for it. Hope this answers your question.

Not to turn this into a post-processing thread, but your pictures seem over-sharpened to me (almost brittle). Could you post a non-sharpened pic? Just curious as to how it would compare to the others.

Some really good stuff there! That's great; just when I had myself convinced I didn't need the 50/1.2, I keep finding reasons to buy one. :bang:

By the way, I must disagree with Mackinaw; I don't find the images too sharp...I guess beauty is in the computer of the beholder.
