tomorrow i'm going to use the 50 and the 90 on the new black zi.
i'll do my normal saturday morning coffee with friends and then a walkabout on whyte avenue.
my bag is packed and i'm hoping to 'see' long when i wake.
and the fact that these are my only black lenses has nothing to do with my choice...honest!
and tomorrow night i head out for an elton john concert.
i'm thinking about taking the same set but i don't think the 90 will have the reach needed for those close head and microphone shots

My M5s need red dots!
Nice agenda! I like the bit about coffee with photographic friends every Saturday.
Me? Here, gotta clean house. We're having a group of people coming over on Sunday and I will grill stuff, drink some bear and see them eat the food. It's called a "social life"...
They're fine and kind colleagues... but, to tell you the truth, I could use some walking about with my camera.
Good luck this Saturday!

Confirmed RF addict...
I bet those black lenses look great on your new ZI Joe... I was thinking about going to the park in the morning to catch some autumn colour... I haven't used my elmar 90/4 in a while, so maybe I'll pack it with the Canon 50/1.8 I want to test out.
Enjoy your morning!

Sounds like a great plan for the day Joe. Enjoy.
I'm heading out to the soccer fields. Two big playoff games today. Problem is, I won't be able to take photographs as the refs don't tend to allow players to tote Leicas during the game!

If that happens, raise a STINK! Scream about all the cameras masquerading as phones! On the other hand, don't risk your gear in some security office holding area. I'll wager a Loonie & a Twonie that you see digital P&S cameras in the audience.
My plans aren't nearly as nice as black lenses on a black body. My chrome lenses have to co-exist with my black body for another weekend. "The Horror!"

Nothing wrong with Sir Elton or Sir Paul, FREE TICKETS!!! The issue of leaving a camera is why I still have my OM-1. Need to find a 200/5 still, but without a gun, my cameras are not handed over.

elton john was phenomenal!
he still has his voice, he's a great entertainer and knows how to court an audience.
my digi-snaps suck though, mostly fuzz and blur...

When we go to the theatre they always announce that recording devices, and taking of pictures is strictly prohibited by law. I'd be careful with my camera.

Just a small quibble with the theater's pronouncement: that activity is not prohibited BY LAW, it is prohibited BY POLICY of the theater. Not quite as serious sounding.

when i was in line to enter the venue last night, i read their posted warning and it said no 'professional' cameras allowed. i plan on emailing them to ask how they define 'professional'.
by their criteria, would my zi be a professional camera because it can change lenses?
i'll keep ya posted.

I wouldn't do that, joe. "Don't ask. Don't tell." Just take the ZI. The local pro basketball team forbids lenses over 4" long. Anything else is fair game. The baseball team permits ANYTHING in the way of lenses and bodies. They forbid tripods & monopods. Your ZI and a handful of lenses fit in various pockets, right? They couldn't POSSIBLY be professional camera equipment, hey? I'm sure the folks at the gate have been trained to be on the lookout for DSLRs and B I G L O N G lenses like my Canon 70-200 2.8 or the Canon 200 1.8. That's the kind of gear REAL concert photographers use these days. Oh, and don't put film in the body before arriving. Open it and show them that it's just an OLD film camera.
