Hi all, this is my first post but I have been following the various and informative discussions for the last several months. I recently purchased a Bessa R3A + Nokton 40/1.2 S.C lens. I have been using digital cameras, and this my first official foray into film photography, and indeed the learning curve is big. Anyway, I will be departing to Cairo, Egypt in a few days and I wanted to know if any forum members have any travel tips, and more importantly places to purchase/develop film in Cairo, Egypt. Also, throw in anything else worth mentioning about the camera I am taking, and film photography that might be helpful.

Thanks!

Well, if you have no experience in metering and exposing film, and you'll be using auto exposure on your R3A, you could think of using C41 film both for color and B&W for this trip...

I would order some ISO 100 and ISO 400 film, and develop it back home (any lab) after returning...

Apart from being film hard to find sometimes (and hard to develop) in Cairo, you can have bad luck and get film that's been too exposed to heat, losing speed and quality...

Cheers,

Juan
