going to sea with fishermen

Glad the weather was good. Looks flat calm.

Some of those mackerel sauteed in olive oil or with a mustard sauce.... When you got back did you rock in the shower when you closed your eyes? Ha ha.

Great pictures. Good memories.

I seldom comment work online, as most is mediocre at best - and I never manage to be polite... However, the best of yours are really great! Makes me inspired, and I really hope you expand this into a book and/or exhibition. There is a mood in this that really will show up, especially if you get more opportunities!

Some of these reminds me of a norwegian photographer, very rough guy both as a photographer and not, who has really had a surge posthumously. There are some pictures here: http://www.google.no/images?hl=no&q=k%C3%A5re+kivij%C3%A4rvi&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=t-MGTKuMHIeOOJGFtbgL&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCcQsAQwAA

But, again, really good work! Hope you get a chance to do it again, and if you end up doing maritime photography extensively, send me a PM.

Tomorrow will be at sea, transporting a 23 foot daycruiser from Oslo down the coast. Will bring a simple kit - a Bessa L with 25/15mm. Your pictures really inspires me - and makes me more determined to go sailing for a few weeks this year! The sea is really photogenic most of the time, and gives lots of opportunities...

Thanks for your comment

I didn't know the guy you mention, but it seems he made some books, I will look at it more precisely

Wish you a good trip and nice pictures :)

edit : not easy to have something not in norvegian :D

Well, that's it, my first part of a serie on fishermen is over.

I hope I will be able to board again on different type of trawlers soon :D

thanks for the comments :)

Yep, the gear was nice and good to use

I used the minolta XD7 for film color, the auto exposure was always exact

I used the bessa R 95% of the time, works great , clearer finder and a bit wider than a leica . 35 and 50mm 2,5 mm plus the fantastic 21 mm wich would be much nicer on a bessa R4 tought :D

The autocord turned to be very usefull, I regret not to have brought more 120 film :D. It was not hard at all to use on the boat so next time I will shoot more MF film :D

Some of the latest photos were my favorite! It was exciting to have them trickle into the thread as you processed your rolls. Went to Flickr last night and viewed them all in Slideshow mode on a nice big screen - sweet!!

Well done and thanks much for sharing!
