Good Blurb Books

Nate,
I read your comment over at blurb, thank you for your thoughts and some of them do not surprise me.
I do understand the one-single-photo-at-once is not to everyone's taste (in the first place, I did not want to put 2 photos in a diptych-like relation, and I liked the idea of look at a picture and kind of putting it away to the left, then look at the next one) and I'm sorry if you expected more pictures, others have told me that it had too many! I also think you might have misunderstood the initial statement(s), but I positively believe that that might be my own fault.
I'm not a professional layouter, so I decided to go a very simple route in order not to mess up things, there certainly are more elegant ways to do it.
you are right about the photos not being in a 'particular order' on the other hand, they are (aaaah paradox), there are series integrated, patterns and paradigms that are supposed to work with each other, but it is true that the 'flow' of it all is very subtle and might seem more confuse to others than myself.
I sincerely hope you can still enjoy the book and do not regret your purchase! 🙂

thank you again!

I'm glad you weren't offended and as I noted the flow was, "maybe that's what he was going for". I don't even pretend to get most art. Your book very much matches the style of say my Eggleston books in layout and whitespace, so you must be doing something right! This might be selfish of me but if I buy a book I want to see large shots on every page, front and back. Steve McCurry does it like that, as does Michael von Graffenried, et al. Of course there's never one right way to do things. I do still enjoy your book, it's very nice. I don't regret anything.

For those that bought the Blurb Groupon a couple months back, don't forget to use it before it expires on February 10th.

I just bought Simon's and Frank's books. Can't wait to get them!

I still need to buy one more book. An Milnor's books are far to expensive compared to artists I enjoy more, but I might go for one of his. Any last minute recommendations or pitches for books?
