Canon LTM Good Canon RF repair people

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
i sent my newly acquired canon P off to youxin for a CLA last week. haven't gotten it back yet, but i'm sure he'll work magic as he usually does. he services the entire canon RF line, to my knowledge.

Essex camera is out of business, just got a camera returned from them, with that notice.
From what I learned from photo.net, they got flooded in the hurricane

very sad news.

youxin has had my canon p since december 8th. i understand that turn around time can't be guaranteed around the holidays, but the M2 i sent him a few months back was returned to me within a week. hope to see his handiwork soon!

Unfortunately, Youxin doesn't do Canon 7....

can anyone recommend an East Coast CLA source for a Canon 7?

I used to use Steve's Camera in Culvert City, CA, but they are really expensive and I'm in DC.

Mark Hama was recommended by others on RFF for Canon RFs, and I think he did a good job on my camera and 50/1.4 lens. Turnaround time was fast (no more than two weeks).

Some people, including me, have not had a good experience with Mark Hama. Poor communication, slow turnaround, didn't fix the problem. Maybe he's improved recently.

Edit: Youxin repaired my Canon IVSB2 and did an excellent job, with good communication and a fast turnaround. I gather from what has been said above that he doesn't work on all models of Canon RFs. Another possibility to check is Sherry Krauter; I don't know if she works on Canon RFs but she did do a CLA on a Canon lens for me a couple of years ago and did an excellent job.

Steve, YouXin indicated to me that he does not work on the Canon 7 - mine might need a minor adjustment to work with Leica lenses, and he did not want to attempt that. I think you are right, he only works on the Canon copies of Barnacks. I need an adjustment on my IIIf, so asked about the Canon also.

I ended up sending a Canon P body to CameraTechs. I just got it back today and as far as I can tell it hasn't been touched at all. Same gritty release, same LOUD shutter (I have another body, CLA'd by Mark Hama five years ago, that is smooth and nearly silent). I will shoot a test roll and if the shutter is still capping I'm going ballistic. I seriously don't believe anything was done to the camera, they just sent it back in a new plastic bag.

Stay tuned.

Wow, that's rude! And they did charge you?

I had a similar bad experience w/ Mark Hama and a Lynx 14. My guy in Seoul is good and cheap, but the shipping from/ to the USA/ EU would be prohibitive.
