Got X-T1. Now what lenses?

i've used most of the xf primes on my xt1, my favs are the 16/1.4 and the 56/1.2. big and not the cheapest, but i really like 'em. prefer the 16/1.4 to the other wides (14/2.8 not fast enough and 23/1.4 not wide enough). prefer the 56/1.2 to the 35/1.4 (not long enough).

could not have said it better...
that 16 is like a powerful drug, cannot let it go!

Howdy All,

I just actually purchased an X-T1 this week as well. I have the X-Pro so I had the 35 (1.4), 18mm, and 60mm. All fantastic lenses. However, for the X-T1, I just also go the weather sealed 18-135 as an all-rounder. I must say, I am impressed. And with fast ISO speeds and vibration reduction on this lens (claimed 5 stops!)...this is one great zoom. Go with the zoom! Its more like the old "slr" experience.

Hi,
Managed to get a used 35/2 for a nice price. Really like it so far. But I will probably get a zoom also. I must say that the feeling of the xt-1 and the 35/2 is great. I like being able to do all the settings without going into menus.

Good choice! Kinda thinking you're going to like the files too :) Problem with the zooms is that all-purpose 16-55/2.8 is wonderful but 'way big.

Same here, serious dependency ...

Wonderful OP and followups folks.

I used the 27mm on a X-E2 during a trip to Panama (City). This combo forced my large Nikon gear to remain in the bag for the duration. Got some wonderful photos of Casco Viejo. Still I'm partial to the 35mm FOV so I sold the 27mm off.

I have an X-T1 kit with the 18-55mm and the 55mm-200mm (bag B). I have a X-E2 kit with the 14mm, 23mm, and the new 35mm f2 (bag A). If I'm out and about (say a trip with the wife) bag B comes along. If I'm out on a solo photo walk then bag A. I love the fact the new 35mm f2 is WR (Weather Resistant).

Rumor has it the demand on the new 35mm f/2 caused a long zoom development to be halted. Supposedly Fuji is working on traditional fixed-focal-length lenses based upon the new 35mm design -- IOW a 23mm f/2 (2.8?) WR lens and/or a similar 16mm.
