I certainly wouldn't part with the ZI then. I guess it boils down to being totally battery dependent. Which in my opinion is not a problem. batteries are cheap.

this seems to make so much sense. if i went for an r3a i could use my 35 with 40 fl or get a 40 and share it with the cle (when/if it's working properly) and for right now use the cv 50 and 75.

the reality is i love the 25mm lenses i have. i use the cv kit more just cause it's smaller and it's in my day bag all the time.
a 25/75 combo with no need to change lenses is appealing.

my original thought was that a non battery dependent camera would be a great back up but then i realized that i have never been without power and it's really not likely that i will be in the future.

I have a r4a and use 21,25.28,50 I had an R3a for 40 and 75.I have just sold the r3a and 40 and will buy the 35 and a 75 viewfinder.One camera six lenses keeps things simple.And cash left over.
 
R3a and a 75 are a match made in heaven

Yes, that's the other thing that makes an R3A attractive to me - I've got a CL that I'd really like to get a 40mm lens for, so it would help justify a 40 purchase.

25/75 appeals to me too. But a problem I have is that my CV 25 is the uncoupled version, and on the R4A the VF frame is in the closest focus position and the parallax is all wrong. I really think I'll sell it and get the coupled version.
