GR Digital V to have APS-C sensor

Nothing wrong with waiting. I had to pre-order. I've been waiting for this GR for years. Never cared for the small sensor ones too much IQ wise. I tend to like APS-C as the smallest sensor for what I expect from a camera.

I think if I didn't have the GXR with the APS-C 28mm, I'd have kept my pre-order, but I'd really like to see some real-world comparisons between the two. As far as pocketability, the new GR seems to be the first TRULY pocketable APS-C camera. Not even the Nikon A can do that...

I'm interested to see what Ricoh sets in motion with this latest GR...

I got myself a nice ukulele for my birthday so I shouldn't be claiming this to be my b-day present to myself anymore. 😛 Maybe I should cancel the order and wait a bit longer. X20 I put on classifieds got no interest so maybe this is a sign I should stick with it for now.

Give Popflash a call. They still have units available. Rather waiting on B&H, if you order from Popflash you probably have a higher chance of receiving the camera in time for your trip.

I decided to cancel as well... I am going to wait a bit. So far the Ricoh still looks like the right choice for me... The more I think about it, the more I realized I really don't need it immediately. I can wait a bit and c who else jumps into this arena.

Echoing Gary and Sug here. I am not in a hurry, but definitely interested. I can see myself relying on Ricoh GR for 28 / 21 FOV.
50 and longer will be on Fuji X-E1.

Not as "pocketable" as I think everyone is hoping it will be. Still an amazingly small camera for what it is, though.

Some posted a size comparison picture of the Ricoh vs a rx100. It is maybe 1/8 inch thicker. The other dimensions a close as well, but between thickness and height, usually thickness is the prime dimension followed by height and then length...

From what I remember from the size compare shot it should fit anything but tight jeans.

Sure, I'll give my opinion as it compares to my other cameras. 🙂 I won't be doing any tests though or going through all modes. I'll set it up as I like to use my cameras and then go out and photograph. I'll be able to give my opinion on things like lens, IQ, af speed, and pocketability as they compare to the X100s, X-Pro1, and Sigma DP2m.

I do wear skinny jeans. Or at least slim tapered jeans. Usually Diesel, True Religion or Seven. All of which are fairly "skinny".

No camera is "pocketable" for me except for my phone so I don't really take pocketability into account when purchasing a camera. But even with khakis on, I don't think I'd want that guy ridin shotgun.

In my opinion this is the best kind of review. Real world use. I hate MTF charts, calibration sheets, grids and brick walls. I don't even care to see 100% samples or RAW files. That stuff is of no interest to me. I want to know how it handles a day on the street or at the fair or down at the pub. Use it. Abuse it. Make it the way you want and show us what you can do with it. That's more telling than a page full of brick wall comparisons at 1/3 ISO stops.
