great looking hood

I just bought a RedLeica hood yesterday, and there appeared to be at least one still available then.

I have the Heavystar hood (looks like ywentz'), but it is cylindrical, so you see a fair amount of the hood's side through the viewfinder. I've been using it on my DR Summicron anyway, because I can't adjust the aperture ring easily with the standard Leica hood. Not enough room for my big fingers. The RedLeica hood has the hood canted inward, so you don't see it as much--just like the Leica hood. It also looks like it will have room for my fingers on the DR. I'll know when I receive it, I guess.

Peter, just in case you are impatient to wait, here are a couple of previews for you of the redleica hood on my DR. I think you'll find plenty of room for your fingers.

Rich, that's one gorgeous MP.. it should be paired up with a black summicron (like mine), tho.. how about you trade the MP for my chrome M3.. then you'll have silver on silver, and I'll have black on black?

Brett! Tempting...but my I was just getting my "patina" started! I keep it up within 5-10 years I'll look like a real pro!

I do have one of the new black 50/2 Heliars coming that I'm thinking is going to look pretty rad on my black MP!

Rich: Thanks for the preview. Yes, looks like there will be plenty of room with the RedLeica hood. The Leica hood covers the knurled end of the DR, and doesn't leave enough room for my fingers at infinity.
