Well-known
i should have mentioned that - yes, plastic. i understand there is such a thing as 3d metal printing, but i have no idea if that's commonly available, or affordable.
this is a long dead thread but i thought i'd share a leica cl grip i found on the internet, which someone designed to be printed with a 3D printer. i downloaded the file, uploaded it to one of the 3d printer services, then ordered - iirc it cost about $8 for the grip, plus a few dollars shipping. i received the grip only a few days later, and it fits really well, weighs almost nothing, but seems sturdy. i added a tripod d ring screw from amazon and it attaches securely. imo it doesn't add materially to the overall size and weight, but ymmv. 3d printing is like magic. 🙂
model file here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:597022
i ordered it through this site, but there are many other 3d printing sites: https://www.treatstock.com/

Hello
What length is the D ring screw you used for this grip? In mm, Amazon has various lengths, commonest seems to be 10mm
Might be nice to have the right side of the "handle" part of that grip taller and cut out to accept the shutter speed dial?
