GSN that doesn't "clunk"??

I have finally gotten around to resealing my other GSN and have noticed something different about it.
This particular camera does not have the famous "clunk" when you start advancing the wind lever.
My other GSN has this clunk so I assumed this one would also clunk.
Anyway, I have taken off the top cover to adjust the rangefinder and the POD is intact and is excellent shape. This particular GSN is immaculate with no corrosion and seems fully functional. I will put a test roll through it tomorrow.
Anyone else have a GSN that has no "clunk"?

And I also found one odd looking loose screw in the bottom of the camera. This screw has a point on one end and a slot in the other and is very tiny. It looks like a screw that would be used to tighten a focus ring or something like that. I noticed no missing screws in the camera.

I powered it up with a fresh battery and found that the smaller apertures work like bulb mode, in low light, for some reason.
The larger apertures seem fine but in low light F8 to 16 seem to be like a manual bulb control.
Unless I point the camera at a light source, which will then close the shutter.
Once again, advice appreciated.

I have a GT that will behave the same way but if I keep the shutter release depressed the camera will give a long exposure time (several seconds) and then close.

Hmmmm, after taking another look under the botton plate I saw a touch of corrosion on the arm that is supposed to hold the shutter release open.
One tiny dab of lubricant and the GSN is clunking like it should.
Now all seems ok except for F16 which works well outside but will not release indoors unless I point a flashlight at it.
But it no longer works like it's stuck on bulb, it works as it should except for not closing the shutter.
I am thinking at this point all of these problems are related to corrosion and I may have mors cleaning to do.
Funny thing is the battery compartment is spotless.

I have found out why the shutter was acting up on F16.
The new battery I installed was almost dead. I went back and exchanged it (and bought a couple of spares) and the camera works fine.

Soooo, I guess I have ended my own thread! It should "clunk"!🙂

I just got a new GSN. At first, everything worked perfectly. Then I put it in my basement in its hard case with all its accessories for a couple of hours. BAD IDEA. The water in the room condensed on the camera and presumably inside it too. My slow and over meters became inaccurate, giving you both SLOW and OVER depending on how hard you press the shutter button. My shutter would open, but not close unless you pulled the lever again. After tinkering around, wondering how in the world everything went all wrong, my camera slowly came back to life. I guess the GSN is sensitive to humidity, in which case one should put it in a dry area under a lamp, and release the shutter, turn the apeture ring back and forth, and it should be ok in half an hour.
