Hasselblad soft release.

Hi, I have three Hasselblads, 500CM and a SWC/M that both have the old release style buttons and a 503CW that has the modern release. Now I do not like the CW new release and have recently seen these soft release buttons. Is there a user of any of these cameras out there that uses one of these buttons, what are they like.
I aslo have my late fathers Zeiss Super Ikonta C and although a button may cause a small problem advancing the film, it may be worth the trouble, so anyone use one on the Ikonta's.
If there are answers that make me want to open my wallet for four of them, where did you buy them from please.
Cheers,
James.

Dear James,
To which soft release buttons do you refer? I use a Tom Abrahamsson mini soft release on a 500 CX; it works very well.

The only ones I found while searching were these...........no prices here.........$25 seems rather stiff for a bloody button, I mean David, after all they are just a fancy bolt. Makes me wonder what these cost, I just like the idea of a small dome shape one.

You'd need to check if the Match Technical ones thread into the Hasselblad button enough to actuate the release. I see your point about (perceived) value for money. I doubt they actually reduce camera shake on a Hassy- but they do make releasing the shutter more comfortable for me. The things that reduce shake, for me anyway, are bracing the camera, & knowing the point of release. (edit) They work on a SWC/M too.

I am only thinking of them being better for release control, never had a shake issue ever. The Red Bip is the one I am considering, it would give a little extra finger length and when I have a 50MM or 150MM on the body, it should make holding and triggering a little easier.

Found a bloke up north selling the Red Bip for $20, I will only get two if I decide to lash out the cash. $ 40 is a boat load of film being lost for two small bolts. I should never have let my old mans lathe go in the auction, parents committed suicide in England back in 2003, old and ill they ended it together, found arm in arm in bed. Anyhow his lathe was a beauty, I just was not thinking right when I was dealing with the estate and let it go, time was limited as I had to return to the USA. Some brass and the lathe and I could have turned out two of these in half an hour.
