Hasselblad SWC is cool

Get yourself a lens hood for it and when taking your first rolls of film through it make a record of depth of field and if you are not in line with the bubble. It’s a superb camera but not an easy one to use because as soon as you tilt it off bubble things can go bad.
It’s depth of field is incredible.........

He just got it, don’t scare him off:)

Bubble outside the circle, a bit like coloring outside the lines. Depending on the desired effect, sometimes that’s bad, sometimes that’s…..good.
Maybe that’s why I think it’s an easy camera to use. Bubble discipline for some uses, freewheeling for others. But, I’d have to agree, if you keep the bubble in the circle, it’s a look that’s hard to come by with other cameras.

New owner: Enjoy your new camera, and a new way of looking at things.

I'm currently struggling with whether I want to get another SWC or another XPAN. Lately I've been missing my XPAN, although I think the SWC is a more versatile camera for my needs since I can crop the image to a desired aspect ratio--not much of an option with the XPAN. I'm leaning towards the SWC. I miss it, too.

And after that I think he said, “But if you’re using an SWC, you need to get even closer than that.”

I appreciate the advice from the folks here. I have shot two rolls and learned a lot. I have not used the bubble level yet; I can't see it through the old viewfinder on my Super Wide but haven't need it so far.

I certainly didn't need it when I sat the camera on a handrail:

Just reviewed the past couple of months worth of photos added to this thread. Lovely work, thanks for posting it! :)

The SWC finder has a feature that I wish the makers of wide angle accessory finders for other cameras would copy: The inclusion of a bubble level in the view. Leveling the camera can be very important when shooting with extreme wide angle lenses, and being able to see the bubble level at the moment of exposure is very helpful, especially for hand-held photography. I'd like it if Carl Zeiss, Leica, and Cosina would consider adding this convenience to their finders wider than 28mm or so.
