Right when I got into a kind of low point or lull... I realized that I can use my scanned slides and prints to make cards. So I ordered some cards from (click on the name) The Photographer's Edge and sat down to work.

Initially, I wanted to have a small stack of cards to send to friends for birthdays, thank-you notes and other things, but my wife suggested that I visit the local art gallery and offer them on consignment (a local photographer is selling cards of leaves in water streams and beautiful bucks in two stores in town). I may do that... but, in any case, revisiting old shots and prints with their card-value in mind has been a nice, invigorating experience.

You should try it too... Besides, winter's a-coming! 🙂 Those long, dark months are good for this kind of housekeeping chores.

Just thought you'd like to know...

Have a nice weekend! 😉

Yeah, I used to do this, too (darkroom-printed cards, though) - eg. I turned an infrared picture of some ivy winding up a grave-stone into invitation cards for my 30th birthday-party... 😀

Seems to be a popular thing to do ... my GF has dragged out all of my prints and has ordered card stock/envelopes/cello bags 😀 I don't have to do anything other than take photos ... pretty good gig 😉

If you want to make your own products with your photos check out this site http://www.psprint.com . I have used it for a few things and they are great. Calanders, cards and just about anything you want they do. Short runs too. If I have a client that I handle the printing for, this place will drop ship the item to my client with my return address so it looks like my company did the printing, pretty cool.

We make our own cards. My wife just gets card stock from the dollar store, cuts it down to size and we glue the picture on.

Good to see I'm not alone! I just thought about sharing my adventures at image editing...

Way in the past I used to make my own cards too... with crayons, temperas and watercolors. They were kinda heavy and took days to be finished but it was fun. With this cards... I just fixed six this morning! 🙂

Oh, dlofgreen, thanks for the website!
