Yes, indeed, Sam Smith is wonderful. Galfriend just picked up a pint for me to have with dinner tonight (skirt steak). Tasty, and, as it happens, organic to boot.

Oh yeah! Good beer! STrong too! I've had the Nut Brown, the Ale, the Oatmeal stout, and the Porter (hic!). I've always liked the presentation of Samuel Smith beer.

The guy probably wondered what you meant by "Newcastle"...it isn't called "Newkie" either, only soft southerners call it that! 😀
The locals use plain and simple "Brown Ale," or in the mother-tongue, "Broon." 😉

I like Orval and Chimay most.

I don't like Kriek either. Mostly women drink it in Belgium (and guys who drink it will deny this fact, hehe)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Westmalle or Leffe.
 
Kostritzer and Radeberger from Germany, and Baltika 9 and 3 from Russia.


Unfortunately Kostritzer has become one of those that is quite good when originally imported, then Beck's screwed up and started brewing it. The real thing is in .75L bottles, while the sad imitation comes in 12oz. bottles.

As much as I love all your taste when it comes to cameras I have to say that most of you have a terrible taste of beer. I am sorry.
By the way I am from Bavaria and it is propably right that you shouldn't discuss beer with a german.
It is just that if I hear someone say desperados is a good beer, that means this person never had a beer.
I know I am insulting and I apologize but this thread hurts me, I hope you understand.
Its like if you talk about food with an Italian guy and say that your favourite food is McDonalds.

For me there is only one beer: Franziskaner Weissbier

Fabian I understand your sensitivity.
As for Desperados, I don't care, I like it, that's it. I can appreciate other beers, but I like Desperados. Some here like Jack Daniels, right?

90% agreed. (If I could that weissbier forget...you've got plenty of excelent beers instead)
But than the place to drink that beer...
This is the garden of U Pinkasu in Prague, the Urqelle is served there...
Bavaria and Bohemia, theese are the best places for beer🙂 😛

Looks like my summer of beer, too broke to buy good wine, I can get a great bottle of beer for a couple bucks. What's not to like about beer?
Love the Czech Budvar above all others but nothing wrong with a frosty Yebisu or one of the premium Kirin lagers like Braumeister.
 
I brew my own in the place formerly known as "Laundry" and currently as "Darkroom".
Seemed the best place to go to mix liquids!
Coopers is good but "Canadian Blonde" is the current favourite. Tried Ginger Beer and Apple Cider too!

I tried the Ale last night and I must confess I was a bit underwhelmed. It was good but not great. Kinda gassy for my taste. I haven't tried the Nut Brown or the Imperial Stout yet.
 
I'm an alcoholic person, i drink beer occasionally amoing other things, i love it in bottles (glass) or in glass glasses not plastic, i hate canned beer, it tastes better from the bottle, we've a local egyptian beer called Stella which is different from Stella artois, the thing is they say it's the original recipe(ancient egyptian did some brewing), anyway i like it, for me it's better than dutch beer(nothing against dutch beer, just different ).

There other brands, like Luxor(although it's local, in tourist destinations something like luxor witzen is available( i liked that one), but i couldn't find it in the city. Anyway There's also Sakara, but mostly people prefer those 2 brands because they produce beer with like 8 or 10% alcohol, and i prefer to limit it to 4%.

Anyway i am not a beer fun, but when i am eating fried sea food, beer is a must.

Somebody talked about 131 years brewing beer (that is not so much time in European terms, BTW), but if Aegyptian Stella is the original, that could make some 4k or 5k years !!!

Some links about that, it's quite the same story, but it is confirmed that ancient egyptians used beer, well at least all history books i've read about ancient egpytian life says the same, stella should follow this tradition(that's their propaganda)...
