Those are my favorites photographers and I would like to know who other important photographer from the past shot with leicas M.

When I look at their pictures I understand what leica is all about and what I have to do with it.

Marc Riboud, my own favorite.
OT- today I'm off to see an Elliot Erwitt show before it closes.
There is that well known photo online of his M4 that's been around the world a few times.

Well, not quite true, he used other lenses too, at least one Noctilux, I believe. So he did use Leitz lenses?

Tom Stoddart, Ian Berry, David Douglas Duncan, Denis Thorpe, Homer Sykes, Kevin Carter, John Angerson, George Rodger, Larry Burrows, John Demos (already mentioned above), Ian Teh, to add a few more. :)

helen levitt, lee friedlander, nobuyoshi araki, gilles peress, antoine d'agata, donna ferrato, joel meyerowitz...who else?

aHA! I dont know about the lens but camaraquest has pictures of his leica M4. So you say he used leica with canon glass? nice.

Anyway, its the same thing the same philosophy.

I never hear people talking about Nan Goldings work. Does any one here likes her?

anyway I would like to know if Nan Goldings freinds (David Armostrong, Mark Morrisroe e Phillip Lorca DiCorcia and jack pierson) did also use leica cameras. Does any one has thits information?

Look for a Magnum book that came out in the late 80's called "In Our Time". In it is a double page black and white group shot of the photographers. A good number of them have Leica M's. Some favored SLR's... the Olympus OM series. The few Magnum photographers I know go through various stages of what equipment they prefer.... rangefinders, SLR's..

As the great Charlie Parker once said:

"It ain't in the horn, man. It's only me."
