I have posted some new pics I took today with this camera indoors, no flash, 800 speed film.

I just received a new Ricoh 35R. I purchased it from a company out of Canada. It was $30 shipped. I bought the one without the date back. This camera has all sorts of cool features. Manual focus, you can choose a couple of different apetures, hot shoe, exposure adjustment. Here is the link:

Here is a link to an ebay auction (for a lot more money) that shows all the pics:

My first impressions are pretty good. I just took it out of the box, so have not taken pictures. It took around a week to get here. It is pretty light. It comes with a lens hood, case, strap, a couple booklets, etc. If it takes good pics, I may buy a couple more and sock them away.

Have you had any photos from the 35R developed? What do you think of it now?

A 30mm lens with 3 elements? hm... I'm curious too!

Apparently, it has some kind of cult cachet to it!

There are lots of other entries, just google for them with the model number. Interesting. Thanks for posting!

I took a bunch of indoor pics with the built in flash. I was not real impressed. All the pics seemed pretty dark. The camera has a hot shoe, but it only works with a special flash. I am going to take some outdoor pics soon, and will post photos,

Also, it can take up to 1600 speed film, I may try a faster film indoors, I used 200 speed,

First of all, you have lovely children, lucky man, they are treasures.
this camera's called MF-1 in Japan issued in Apr. 2001, surprisingly w manual focusing, plus a flash shoe, asking $35,000 Yen, $304. So if you paid $30, that's a real deal.
Ricoh used another 30mm but 4-element F3.5 lens on R1S, charged $41000 Yen and auto focus thou.
The 3 element 30mm 3.9 MF-1(35R) is quite a good looking camera too.
Ricoh's best deal is GR-10 which used the same 7 element 28/2.8 on GR-1v.
Thanks Keith.

Those are excellent shots.
Ricoh made some superb film cameras. I have always wanted a GR1.
There are some really good deals on that website, though I didn't see
an R1 for $30. I bought an R1E ($25) to trade for my wife's XA2...

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum! (Don't have a RF yet, as I've been outbidded on the GIII QL17 on ebay for so many times!)
I have a question on the 35R, I see that it's got a threaded lens, I'm wondering if my 0.5x and a 0.8x wide converter (37mm threaded) for my DV will work on the 35R?
BTW, the 35R is $60 on that website now =(

I have one of these, and think it's really nice little camera (and not expensive when bought new at the time). Didn't use it for a few years, though, I really must dig it out again...
