Hello, allow me to introduce myself!

By the time I was 24, I was the proud owner of a M4, M4-2, 21 f3.4 Super Angulon, and bought myself a 28 f2.8 Elmarit for my 23rd birthday. Of course it helped that I worked in a camera shop at the time and got an employee's discount! But prices and options back then were nothing like they are today. Voigtlanders are a great choice.

Greg, just jump right in. You only live once and you'll have the cameras for a long, long time.

Just to join in the Brit luv-in, I'm an ex-pat Welshman living in Yorkshire.

Isn't Kevin Keegan from Scunthorpe? (For you on the other side of the pond, Keegan was to English soccer what Michael Jordan was to ice hockey. Just kidding, basketball ;P).

Welcome to the Forum!

Beware of the GSN - mine has a tendency to flare and others have this problem too. I have never experienced flare with my QL17, however, which is also much smaller compared to the Yashica.

Maybe a nice Bessa R-series? This idea of starting off with a good quality kit is really growing on me...
Robert White is currently selling the Bessa-R (discontinued, only a few left) with a 35mm f2.5 lens for £250+VAT, which seems like a good price to me (the lens on its own is £160+VAT). I'd get one myself if I had any money left.

That now makes either 4 or 5 Lincolnshire members. Maybe we need a Lincoln meet rater than a London one. 😀

I have heard of Scunthorpe, in fact I fly by there quite frequently. Not sure I want to visit though.

As an aside wasn't Scunthorpe once famously banned by Google's parental mode?

Hi, Greg. Why don't you come along on the 18th June (or the 24th) as some of us are meeting folks from out of town (way out of town in fact). You'd be able to see and touch a fairly wide range of kit (of course being mostly affluent Londoners we all use a la carte MP's with aspheric Summiluxes 😉 ).
