Hello, I'm new to this forum

Hello,

I am new to this forum and I wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading posts here for quite some time, and I registered for a while back, but had trouble being able to reply or start posts, and I couldn't get through to the administrator, but finally I sent an e-mail directly to Stephen Gandy and he fixed that. Didn't know if this was his forum or not, but he fixed it. So thanks for that.

Anyway, all this reading up had me wanting to get a Leica, and I finally got one last december - what a pleasure to use. I got an M6 (almost unused with the plastic still on the bottom) on Ebay for an insanely good price, but it sat for quite a while until I could come up with some funding to get a lens. For a while a friend let me borrow a collapsable Elmar, which I didn't realize locked into place once extended so my first roll of film was not in focus at all. Lesson learned there. The next time I went to visit him I exchanged the Elmar for a summarit (?) 35. My first roll of Tri X went much better with that.

I have since bought a used Summicron 50 (latest version) from KEH and I used that for the first time on a trip to mexico, where I brought mostly Ektachrome and Kodachrome. I am in the process of scanning those currently, and I hope I can post some to share.

I look forward to joining this community in learning and sharing about ranngefinder photography - such a refreshing change from my GIANT EOS 1 digital camera.

After choosing New Thread, you'll find Additional Options beneath the text box for your message. Go to Manage Attachments for options.

If you want your image inserted in the post, use the "Insert Image" button (the small landscape) and just paste the URL of your image in the box. This requires of course that your picture is uploaded somewhere, like flickr or the RFF gallery.

Welcome. To post an image (and I learnt this here very very slowly and for some reason on a photographic forum there is no sticky to tell us newbies how to do it) have a picture uploaded on the www somewhere. For most this is flickr. Above the image in Flickr that you want to post click on the box that says "All Sizes". This will generate two boxes containing urls. Copy the contents of the lower box into the white box that already begins with http:// after you click on the insert image icon to the right of the 'Insert Link' icon and to the left of the 'Wrap [Quote tags] around selected text' icon above the box where you are entering your post like I am right now.....

The other one is a line 6. This was a shot from the guitar player in my band's room. He's a bit messy.🙂

The Savage is incredible and only 6 watts. Right now it's at my house set up for recording our CD. He actually plays a 335 or the Kiefer Sutherland 336.

I had a lend of my bro's fender champ tube amy once - tiny but it packed a whalloping warm sound. ahhhhh, guitars and leica's = heaven !🙄

I was just playing my Les Paul through a Marshall 50 watt tonight, though I like that a lot, I like the little amps way better. The savage has a bit of the marshall grind, but warmer sounding. I also have a Tweed Deluxe clone that rocks too.

A friend of mine plays unbelievable guitar and he does so on the smallest amp you'd ever find, about the size of a small printer.
