I just downgraded to a Laptop/Vista combo and upgraded to Photoshop Elements 6 (from 3). After installation I cannot get Elements to open the raw files through the PhotoRAW plugin (which worked fine with Elements 3 on XP). I have tried putting the plugin in different sub-directories but to no avail. CameraRaw opens up the .erf file from within Elements 6 no matter what (also after removing/re-installing the plugin). The PhotoRaw standalone works flawlessly as does other plug-ins.
1) Does anybody has a working combo of Elements 6, Vista and the plugin together? And if so, where is your EPSON RAW Plug-In.8bi file located? Any other hints much appreciated
2) My EPSON RAW Plug-In.8bi is dated 27-12-2005 (from the epson28743eu_plugin zip) - is there a newer one around? While searching for solutions I found one reference to PhotoRAW 1.30, but cannot find anything higher than 1.21 at Epson's sites
All input much appreciated [ranting on Vista not necessary :bang:]

Thanks for the link Pixtu - but as far as I can see it is only the firmware for the camera.

I admit it looks like that, but infact it's the Epson Photo raw utility for windows. Download it and see.![]()
Hate to be stubborn
Have tried posting the question to epson.uk who are usually very helpful.
cheers,

I use Elements 6.0 on my Dell PC, without adding any plugins. After moving my jpeg and RAW files from the camera to the PC, I use "Open as" and select Camera RAW, and open the RAW image. I can then adjust the RAW ORF image as I see fit, then click on "Open Image" at the bottom right corner and it is loaded into Elements 6.0 for the usual editing.

Hi Jim - just to ensure I get your workflow right. When you are opening the image it comes up in Adobe's Camera Raw, right, and not in Epsons PhotoRAW plugin?

STATUS:
Epson could not help but suggested Robert White (where I bought the camera). They were, as usual, extremely helpful but suggested that I contacted Adobe (which I have now done) and kindly asked to be kept updated.
Further I encountered a problem when letting Adobe import pictures from the card reader - all .erf pictures were blurry. However, after upgrading from Camera Raw 4.2 to 4.4.1 this problem has been resolved.
I will update this when Adobe reverts. Still, all input welcomed.
