Help: I want the Canon 50mm 0.95 Where?

Thanks, Jim, for the very interesting link. The shot of the oboe had some very lovely bokeh, in my eyes. Naturally, the Leica guys at the end of the thread came to the defense of their pricey lens. It is a very good one, and has all the benefit of the past research plus modern glass and computer techniques, so it should be better than the pioneering effort by Canon.

Certainly the price difference has been substantial, particularly several years ago. When you take into consideration two factors, one, the number of lenses that have been converted to Leica, and two, the number of lenses that were sold to TV and the movie industry, the lens must have had substantial support in years past.

I own 2 of these remarkable chunks of glass. One is a normal mount for the 7's, and the other is what I still believe is a Canon factory conversion to TV, without the focusing tab, or the modifications needed to properly mount on a 7-series camera. I thought of having a tab installed, but that would leave me with the common (relatively) 0.95, so things will remain as they are, at least for now.

The thread should be read by anyone interested in comparing the lens with the Notilux, which is certainly the modern standard for a high-speed lens.
