Looks like an old Bessa 66 to me. You can see the film format by opening the camera back. If the film area is square it's a 6x6. I have the Bessa 46 model from -38 which looks similar but has a small viewfinder on top. It has a complex film advance and frame counter mechanism which I just don't know how to use in a right way and the camera stays unused.

This one actually has a flip-up viewfinder, the pictures aren't great sorry :|
It certainly looks like a 66, the back says "Bessa 46", hence the confusion.

Are the backs interchangeable?

We're pretty sure it was bought new, so I doubt it has been, but you never know!

IIRC the earlier 46 differed from the 66 only in a dual-window door and 4.5 masks for film gate and flip-up finder.

Hmm... Roger, indeed. Now that I look at it the film area in mine (6x4.5) it looks like it could be a removable mask. I don't want to force it before I know for sure. I took some crappy photos of my Bessa 46 if someone would know better. Starla zero, yours is the same camera but definitely an older model.
