Help identifying Pink Nikon Soft Release

Here it is on my Nikon F Apollo (which I will probably be putting up for trade with different lenses available, before too long, all I really want is a Rollieflex 2.8 planar)

I have not been able to find information ANYWHERE on this... maybe it is very rare, maybe you can buy a bag of them for $5?

I have one! It looks identical to your example. It is slightly taller that the standard Nikon offering and is not marked "Nikon" anywhere. I assume its a generic product...?

A guy on a Nikon forum thinks it is an AR-1.

Mine has no markings but I think it is Nikon. I can tell no difference between the standard and it.

Interesting, except most Nikon releases have no center hole. Plus I think it is a less worth design because of the potential break off. To me the best design would be a wider one that is nearly as flat but mounts on the outside threads. This button works amazing for the F and F2, however, because otherwise it is sort of hard to reach the release.

Looks like the AR-1 knockoff that seller lukavakeli offers on eBay for $9.50 US including shipping. I bought one about a month ago; it works well.
