!help: leica between 1000-1500!

Magus, I should not make judgements about what people are like based on their age or my own history. In retrospect my daughter was a very mature and responciple individual when she was seventeen. My point was only that skill and experiance will get you further then the tools you use. Jim

I would say that this discussion has no point. Its obvious that skill and experience are the heart of a good photograph, but depending on the type of photography, gear can be important. But, again, this is not my point...I just want an advice about buying a Leica. 🙂

Dvenosa, this is Rangefinder Forum! Someone asks a question and everyone talks about something else! It"s the law! 😀

Cheers, Ian

Sorry! One more thing to consider, if you have not handled rangefinders much, is how the machine handles. See if you can go somewhere and play with each of the bodies you are considering, and some lenses. Focus on near and far subjects, load and unload film, meter some subjects (if applicable to the body). See how it fits in your hand, vertically and horizontally. Spend a lot of time with each type of camera.
You want something that feels comfortable for you to use.

Good luck with your decision!
