Here we go again...M8

Ok, time has passed and the sores of the last 2 M8's are healing....my wallet is in great shape and I am ready to buy another M8.

So here is my question.

If I get a new camera...definately new....what can I expect if I use my stock of Leica glass and also some Zeiss and CV glass. Nothing is coded and wont be for some time. I won't have the filters either.

I am using Lightroom and PS CS2 soon to be CS3.

Am I waisting my time or can I get what I should expect........

I currently use a RD1s and love it....lucky I guess, I haven't had a single problem.........but I am definately a Leica shooter for over 40+ years.....

so, what do YOU think.......any comments/suggestions appreciated....

i get purple everywhere, in sunlight, daylight, overcast, morning, evening, indoors, tungsten, flourescent

so be prepared to fix it in PS, get filters, or just shoot B&W

if it's an easy fix in PS, I can live with that.....I will convert 99/100 files to B&W.......I always use raw......

have you had any lockups, freezes or wierd thinggys....?

Cheap body, more glass 🙂
Stick with the R-D1 unless you need the longer EBL for a 75 lux or something else similarly exotic.

I have not had any color problems at all, i got the uv/ir filters and works great. no coded lenses, but them my widest lens is a 35 sumilux. buy the m8 and have fun. if you shoot b&w there are no issues at all. and the color issues are less than i have with my d200.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy situation. I love the Epson but have to admit that I don't have the bond with it required for me to make the journey with a camera and worse than that, I can't get the feeling that the camera is like a permanent part of my life. I mean the build quality is ok but not likely that it'll last for a long time. i may be wrong but I have to many M's that have made it through hell and back and still work great.

I had that feeling for about a few hours with my M8's but that illusion fell apart rather quickly...but and that's a big BUTT......I think that if I adapt myself.......the M8 will be with me for some time......well atleast I'm thinking positively about dropping $10,000.00 again......

maybe in a week or so...just to make sure that any impulsive decision has
left and the final residue will be the truth that I seek.......
