Hexanon 28mm F/2.8

I had a VC Ultron.
I wasn't really satisfied.
Bought a Hex, and it was MUCH better than the VC.
My guess is that I had a bad Ultron sample, but of course I can't be sure.
I sold the Ultron...

Very nice photos in this thread! What does a clean M-Hex 28 go for these days? And how does it compare, size-wise, to the new Ultron 28/2?

I'm not a "flower guy", but these are beautiful!

About the lens, I forgot to add:

The build is really excellent. Heafty lens...
Focus is too stiff for my taste.
The hood is hard to find, but I machined a vented 46mm third party hood and it seems to work fine.

You're correct, the hood is way too big. I use a small Heavystar hood on mine.

it's a little smaller than the ultron, though it's not a huge difference.

Exactly what hood are you using?

I'm using a heavystar 46W hood - $9 with cap, $6 sans cap. See pic below.
