Greetings,

Matsuiya Store currently has a 35/2 Hexanon LTM but not of the UC type. It's chrome rather than black and it does not have a focusing tab 😀

Any thoughts about this lens? I guess this is another limited edition right? Is it compatible with any Leica M?

Thanks a lot for the wisdom.

Cheers,

Philippe.

it would need an LTM-M adapter. But those are easy to find.

Then it would be compatible with any M body.

I don't know anything about the other Hexanon designations.

Thanks Rogue,

I know about the adapter. Already have a few 🙂

I know that probably few of us here own this lens but I was hoping to hear about image quality and early compatibility issues with Leica M bodies (I have an M4).

Cheers,

I can't see why there would be any issues with the M4. Some of the ones with swing arm meter elements, or interior baffles might be an issue (or might not), but the M4 should be just fine.

This is the earlier version of the LTM tabbed UC lens and optically it's identical but with a different coating similar to the 35/2 unit found on the Hexar AF. The lens is perfectly compatable with all M cameras and unlike other 35/2 lenses, nothing protrudes past the adapter flange so there is zero chance of mounting issues.
