I can't remember if that nice big cross hair target is accurate. I just took out my recently acquired Hexar and won't get the film back for 2 or 3 days to see if I'm off. But since the sensors are off to the side of the lens, I'm thinking some of my shots will be slightly out of focus. Is there a rule of thumb to apply here or is it simply learned by experience?
Thanks,
John

I have had great experience with using the crosshairs as a focus reference point (even at f/2).

The focus on my Hexar is slightly off-centre.
I have to compensate by placing the point of focus in the middle of the space between the centre vertical and right horizontal cross-hairs.

.......sometimes i thinks
The crosshair on my hexar AF seems to be doing what its supposed to do.
Not that i've done any testing/comparison but i've never had problems with the point of focus in my final images.

That's what I seemed to remember from my previous experience with the Hexar, and I'll find out for sure when I get my pictures back. If it seems to be off, I'll remember what AJ W said about compensating.
Thank you....

I've scanned pictures shot the past weekend and the focus looks fine to me. There is one that was taken kinda close up that looks a bit softer than it should. But one out of one hundred and fourty four ain't bad......

My understanding is that at longer distances the center of the cross hairs is a good indication of where the focus point is. At close distances the focus points is down and slightly to the right. If you set up stand a pen on end and try focus on it, you'll get an idea on where gauge the focus.

Not to hijack this thread, but I think that it's relevant. Could someone elaborate on the focus adjustment as in this thread http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1149042#post1149042 ?
I'm just a little unsure on how the focus adjustment is done.
