jvx said:Ghana vs Italy is looking pretty good so far, especially since Ghana seems to do surprisingly well. Then again, every team that plays versus Italy does well, but in the end the Italians somehow always win 2-0...
I knew it!
Even 6 Belgian players could not stop the sublime pass.
May be true, but just for the record, if it wasn't for that Jamaican referee on crack in our game against Brasil, we would have won the World Cup in 2002!

HA... you should have been there on the streets of Sydney for the next 10 minutes after the game... and a few hours there after for a compulsory celebratory drink.
.... just have to beat Brazil now!!!
PS. JVX: Did you see the Australia vs. Japan game... now there is a crap ref!!! Thankfully his crapness went both ways but it almost cost Australia the game...almost!

You all will have to keep the talk strong for me so I will know what happened today. Off to a school sponsored family picnic at the beach so I won't be in my office keeping track of things on the computer and radio.
I wish there was a TV network replaying these games at night so I could see a little. I guess at 10pm the US game was rebroadcast and the Italy win was shown at 2am. A little late for my taste.

Ah thanks so much everybody! I left work after the 1st half of USA-Czech Republic, the streets were empty! Not a day for street photo
Tonight is France - Switzerland.. once again I'll be the traitor.. everyone at the embassy is going to watch the match, and we installed a videoprojector at the coffee of the French Institute of Prague... No swimming pool for me this evening
I didn't decide yet if I'll be for France or Switzerland... So hard to be french & italian citizen! But my heart beats for Italy
Allez la France!

Good afternoon Pherdi.
There is a soccer ball in the trunk of my car for use at the beach today.

In the paper today it said that Wayne Rooney - England's Shrek-faced goal assassin may play on Thursday - they're already sending the cup to the engravers! Apparently they'ye going to put an 'E' on it (it's pretty easy to change that to a 'B')

The Swiss seemed to give a decent account of themselves today -- at least, they had more scoring opportunities. The French, meanwhile, have not scored since the '98 final. (But then, they did win the World Cup that year!)

Just as an aside the british journal of photography is running a copetition in conjunction with Ilford the theme is 'Spirit of the World Cup'. The prize is 365 rolls of ilford film (120 or 35mm). more details HERE - so now you can combine RF'ing and football and this thread is now no longer OT - moderators please take note
