High museum in Atlanta is featuring a small exhibit of Brett Weston's photographs through Sept. It was nice to his abstracts in person.

Thanks for sharing. My wife and I often take day trips or weekend trips to Atlanta just to see exhibits at the High. Anyone that doesn't know about the High that lives in the south should check it out. They almost always have major photo exhibits.

Jackson Fine art in Atlanta also has some great shows. We're were recently at the High and Jackson for Gordon Parks and Bruce Davidson shows. In the past the High has had Exward Weston, Ansel Adams, W Eugene Smith, Mann Ray and dozens of other big name shows. I've even attended lectures by some of the living artists.

If you're in Nashville check the Frist Museum. The Frist has major photo shows too. The had a show of images and vintage cameras a few years ago. Among the prints were images by Weston, Adams, Avedon, Horst, Imogen Cunningham, Steichen, Stigletz, Tina Modotti, Paul Strand and many more. They had a major show of HCB's work. There were probably over 100 of his prints. Another show was prints of every Pulitzer prize winning photo.

Luckily, you have a lot more time than September :) The website says it will be around until January 10th. More on the exhibit:

On you way up Peachtree from the High to Jane Jackson, take a quick stop by the non-profit Atlanta Photography Group's gallery in the basement level of the TULA center (12-5 each Wed through Saturday):

For those from out of town who will be visiting Atlanta soon, don't forget that Atlanta turns into a photography town from mid-September through October with Atlanta Celebrates Photography:
