Ho Chi Minh City

Do you think those will turn into tenements as they sometimes do here in Europe? Or are people pushed out to make room for offices? Just curious, that's all 🙂

Thanks for the info on the gear.

Thanks, Guy. Sure, with the difference that in SE Asia, these developments are implemented at a breakneck speed: its entire neighborhoods, instead of one apartment building at a time. Most of the above pictures were taken with, either a Fuji X-T1 or a Fuji X-H1. Click on the pictures to see the lenses used. Cheers, OtL

The younger generation can no longer afford to buy or rent a house or an apartment in the old city. The economy is booming and Ho Chi Minh City -now with some 10 million inhabitants, continues to grow rapidly and many local and international private investors are jumping into the real estate market to meet the demand for housing and to make a profit. As anywhere else, the well-to-do will manage the changes, while low and middle-income families will need some support -like access to mortgages, to make a successful transition. Cheers, OtL

Very nice to see these. Love the open markets and seeing the food and culture and infrastructure and people.

I've been corresponding with a nice lady this past year who resides in Phnom Phen, Cambodia (we were introduced by her best friend here in the USA who I worked with). I have never been to Southeast Asia and look forward to a trip there to see her once the quarantine is lifted and it's safe to travel. These photographs remind me of the photos she sends to me. It may be awhile though.

Please post more.
