Hole in curtain on MP - fix with liquid tape?

Got a pin-hole in the curtain of my 2021 MP. Any reason not to fix it with liquid electrical tape?

If you bought the camera new, send it in and Leica will repair it under your Passport warranty (your Leica dealer may handle the warranty service for you). A self repair may void your warranty altogether!

I have no idea how it happened....sadly.

Direct sunlight with the lens set at infinity will do it - and quickly too (about 3-seconds). ... Look here.

The Passport warranty is a "no-fault" warranty. One of the few benefits of spending 5 grand (US) on a new 35mm film camera.

It seems like it only has the regular 2 year warranty.

I got mine from "The Works", it is a chain of shops found pretty much in any UK towns selling arts and crafts materials, books, gifts for kids etc. It was for about £3 if I remember correctly.

Right. And I just went to Canadian Tire which is at almost every city and even town in Canada and got the liquid tape from the shelf.

That's a gnarly hole that I don't think the sun caused. I would really talk to Leica about your warranty.
