I recently purchased a hood for the 50mm Hexanon f/2 for use in place of the built-in hood. Here it is mounted on my M9-P:

It seems to be well made, and at $8.30 (no postage fee) it's a real bargain. But it did take a couple of months to arrive.

Here is a line from the receipt for contact:

"This email confirms that you have paid Au Ka Yue
(sales@roxsen.com) $8.30 USD using PayPal."

I also have one of the cheapies. What cap do you use?

The slide out hood on mine is a bit lose, so those screw ins are necessary.
Btw it is most likely the best 50 I ever used.

This post got me to thinking how much I missed my Hex 50 that was stolen in Cuba some 4 months ago. I missed one that sold recently here. So I just looked on EBay and found two at reasonable prices.

Unfortunately they are the same lens #3217300. While the photos in both ads initially look different, one is a Photoshopped version of the other with the lens cap moved to the other side of the photo. Once I figure out who has the actual lens, I think I will buy it.

I worry about caps only on the M7, for fear of burning the cloth shutter. The metal shutters on the Hex RF and the M9 eliminate that concern.

Agreed on the quality. I think of it as the Summicron killer. :D
