Hoods for the Elmar 3.5 collapsible

The VALOO hood is the way to go -- some of them have the aperture markings on a knurled ring right on the front of the hood, and it makes aperture adjustments a cinch (it looks just like the one pictured above). The FISON is much more compact, but changing apertures is a pain by comparison.

Problem with the VOOLA is that you gotta peer into the front of the lens to adjust the aperture to the proper setting, whereas with the VALOO the markings are clearly visible on the top of the hood.

Before I got a real hood I made one by cutting a strip of sturdy black cardboard, wrapped it aroung the Elmar and taped it into a cylinder. The result was a decent hood and I could remove it, flatten the cardboard and store it flat. Very handy and I still use it from time to time.

My fav is the 1/2" deep clamp one. The 50/90/135 is more effective as it is twice as deep but a pain. Sorry I don`t know the codes
