Without trying to be insulting... this is the one I had in my house in the last five+ years that is closest to a dog. The rest are spiders and a variety of small bugs.
This beauty was only a guest, though. A few times sleeping at my place, january this year, that's it.

Guinness looks like a stout fellow, but with that name you expect him to have a tan head.

Rulle´s the guy - he thinks
Two of Rulle (translates to Roller or something like that) outside the cabin in the mountains last summer when it did NOT rain all the time ...
Rulle is a noble mixture of Border Collie with a dash English Setter added generations ago (i.e. 6 years) (that´s his mother´s side) and pure blooded Golden Retriever (his assumed father). He barks like :bang: hell, but is otherwise quite likeable.
Rulle is actually my daughter Heidi´s dog, a fact she tends to forget when it comes to daily exercise ... Heidi´s co-starring in the second pic.

Here are Solo and Fly:
And me with my first dog, Harley, who was the Coolest Dog Ever. She was the anthro department mascot in grad school, went to classes with me (the ones I taught and the ones I took), participated in scholarly colloquia, and probably had enough course units for at least a masters. She traveled with me, saw both American oceans (Atlantic and Pacific), enjoyed hiking, boating, and hiding in a little tote bag when we went to the mall. I took her everywhere with me. People who hated little dogs still loved Harley. There was something about her -- she was vivacious without being boisterous, pensive without being too serious, and never made any noise unless there was something really worthwhile to say (like, "Intruder! Intruder!"). Harley had star quality. She was only seven when she died, and I still miss her. No one is allowed to make fun of small dogs around me.
I'm so sorry, Joe.

Yeah! Some actor, that ChiChi!
Rulle´s very good in his classic "I haven´t been fed for days" poses, but is a very plump actor in other areas.

Here's Winston shot with my Rolleiflex TLR. Winston is a key player in my organization. He just turned a year old. Pure Black Pug.
Last night I walked into the kitchen to find him standing on the table with my $300 pair of Oliver Peoples designer eyeglasses mangled on the floor. I'm never leaving my Leica out again.
Joe and Erik: sorry for your loses. I couldn't imagine losing Winston.

Bruce,
That's quite a smile on Reilly. He must be a happy dog.
Has anyone noticed that the last few shots on any given roll of film is of their dog. What a great way to finish a roll.

Lagotto Romagnolo? That's a new breed to me. Related to Spanish Water Dogs and Portuguese Water Dogs perhaps?

No, it's an italian truffle seek dog. The official breed registry happened only in 1995, but the breed existed in middle and north of Italy since centuries, some say it's one of the oldest known breeds in this country. The name comes from cane di lago (lake dog) from the emilia romagna region, because it was also used as water retriever.
smart dogs with a terribly good nose, I can say.
