How does a worn black MP look like?

Does anybody has a picture or know a link to pictures showing how the current black 'meant to look used' MP looks like when it gets used?

Thanks, regards
Robert

You're talking a black-paint MP? 😕

Yes, Ray! Are there other candidates to my description? 😕 🙂

Not that I'm aware of. I saw this:

and I'm envisioning Leica selling an 'a la carte' version of the MP that is "pre-worn" or something like that. 🙂

the paint applied was made to wear off quickly, giving that brassed look on the edges that so many are fond of, makes you an instant pro 🙂

Aah, now I see. 🙂 Actually I've seen Gibson making this for guitars, they add 'corrosion' and carefully crafted signs of use to their most expensive 'vintage' instruments..

...and people do buy pre-worn jeans with holes and tears in them for hundreds of dollars! Maybe Leica will start offering knock-offs of Winogrand's M4, etc.

great idea, ala carte options with exact 'wear patterns' from your favorite leica photographer 😉

In Winogrand's case, he worked with chrome M4s as far as I know, so they may have to just scratch the chrome a bit.

I'll charge $500 to have any black paint camera sent to me. You custom-request the wear patterns. I will wear it genuinely as indicated.

Fondling is extra.

Yep. Fender does the same thing, like a Replica 52 Telecaster, that sells for $400 more than a standard USA model? Weird.

My black paint MP (bought as a demo with no marks at all, used without a case for 1 1/2 years and around 150 rolls, most definitely did not have that smooth brass-cornered "patina" everyone goes ape over. Instead it looked like a black car looks after a few years: lots of faint swirl scractches and scuff marks dulling the overall finish but not penetrating to the brass. I can't imagine anyone thinking it added something to the appearance, and to me it was plain ugly.
