If I add 50mm SLR lenses to the list, I have many more lenses.
Canon 50/1.8, 50/1.4, 50/1.2L
Nikon 50/2.0, 50/1.8, 50/1.4
Zeiss 50/1.8, 50/1.4 for QBM Rolleiflex
Schneider 50/1.8 for QBM Rolleiflex
Pentax 50/2, 50/1.4

Several 55mm lenses, including Nikkor 55/3.5 micro, Canon 55/3.5 macro, Pentax 55/4 macro, Rolleinar 55/1.4.

Nokton 1.5 - my first lens, it was fast and cheap and I really enjoy using it
Canon LTM 1.8 - it was cheap and I had very positive comments about it from a friend, i like the tab and the tones it captures
DR Summicron - wanted a classic Leica lens, found a good deal on this one along with the eyes, being able to shoot at a shorter distance is pretty sweet

thought of getting a 3.5 elmar, to have a very compact collapsible lens with a classic rendering, but I think it'd be too many 50s..

I had a Canon 0.95, but sold it. I still have one unconverted, not sure if I should convert it and keep it or sell it...

i like this thread, i have:

Canon f1.5, I bought from ebay for $90, didnt know much about it and found out that its of a sonnar design.

Canon f1.8, I hated this lens initially, but realised my focusing was to blame, I love to shoot this open wide

Industar f3.5 black non-collapsible, Brian our '50s guru fixed it for me for LTM

Jupiter-8, Brian put in most of his stash, little or none of the original J8 was left. Excellent build.

Summicron 40mm (<-- okay not exactly 50mm but 50mm framelines). Love this lens, bought it with the CL for 388 on ebay. CL was frozen. Really. I think it must have been dunked in the river. But the lens was salvaged decently. Found normal caps for it without having to resort to the original expensive kojak hood & lens cap.

Summicron DR 50mm. This lens gets the least exposure. I dunno why.

Elmar Collapsible 50mm, body damaged, lens looks okay . Waiting to send to Brian.

Summitar 50mm, bought it recently for <70. Supposed to be in bad shape, or bad description by seller. Waiting for delivery

I am looking for the Summarit f1.5 but missed several opportunities to buy <300. But I think the price is never coming down.

I usually lurk here, but I can play this game:
I'll list the Summicron rigid first, since this a Rangefinder forum, but I also have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 Ai and a Nikkor 1.8 AF.
The 'Cron goes on my Ikon, the Ai goes on my FE and the AF goes on my N75.

When I search my equipment database for "50mm" there are 24 results.
These include three Jupiter 8 in Kiev mount, two of them 8m, and one falsely branded "Sonnar". A Leitz Focotar f/4.5, my most commonly used enlarging lens. A f/1.4 Nikkor-S. The Voigtlander 50mm f/2.0 Heliar Classic and 50mm f/2.5 Color-Skopar. The Zeiss 50mm f/1.5 C-Sonnar ZM and 50mm f/2.0 Planar ZM, and lastly the Zeiss-Opton 50mm f/1.5 Sonnar T. The rest are for SLR.

AF-Nikkor f/1.8D
Nikkor f/1.4 AIS
Canon f/1.8 FD
Minolta f/2 MD
Minolta f/1.7 MD
OM f/1.8 (mij)
Pentacon f/1.8 auto
Yashica DSB f/1.9
Miranda EC f/1.8
Jupiter 8

So that's ten, not including the two 55mm f/3.5 Micro Nikkors in the house.

Ronnie

well, you can not have enough 50s
Minolta AF 50mm f1.7
OM 50mm f1.8
OM 50mm f3.5 macro
OM 50mm f2 macro
kiev J8 50mm f2
and finally, shall I mention bronica 75mm normal lens here?

Oh, I didn't know we were counting non RF lenses. Hmm . . .
FD: 50 1.8 (multiple- I think they breed in the dark), 50 1.4 (x3), 50mm 3.5 Macro, 55mm 1.2 AL (x2)
Nikon F: 50 1.4 AF-D, 50 1.4 AI, 50 1.4 non AI, 55mm 3.5 Micro
MF: Plaubel with a fixed Nikkor 80mm 2.8, Mamiya 645 80mm 1.9 and 80mm 2.8, Yashica Mat with 80mm 3.5 fixed
m4/3: Panasonic 20mm 1.7

Yeah, I guess they're called STANDARD lenses for a reason.

I've got five for rf, all of them LTM as it happens:

Elmar 50/3.5 (coated, 1947)
Summitar (coated, 1949)
Canon 50/1.5
Canon 50/1.8 (chrome and black, first version)
CV 50/2.5

I love 'em all, and have no plans to sell any.

I've also got an MD-Rokkor 50/1.7 for the Minolta SLR. Don't use that one much, although it's a terrific lens.

You need a database for your gear ??:eek:
Might be another way of "fondling"; the data often include a photo.
I like to record the details of the purchase; when, from whom, how much, etc, and the same if I sell the item. And some info about the item, specs, service and repairs, etc. I like to know what filters I have in what sizes, and where they are. I do the same for computer gear, household goods, collectibles... As they say, knowledge is power. :)

I voted 4:

50mm f/1.4 Zuiko
50mm f/3.5 Macro Zuiko
50mm f/1.8 AF D Nikkor
50mm f/2 AI Nikkor

As you can see, they all serve different purposes, is why.

I have one M and I never use it. Maybe I will someday. - Jim

EDIT: I have several now for my Nikon S3 and a few for Nikon SLRs. Yes I am now using the 50 much more than I used to. - jim

I own one, I think this is my Perfect 50mm.
ZM 50mm f/1.5 C-Sonnar T*
And I Love it on G1 also, where the Focus Shift is eliminated. But, I got it for my M5 "For" the 1924 signature too. I like options.

just three, all in LTM
Summar
Industar-61
Nikkor Nippon Kogaku Tokyo H-C f2

Loving the Summar best, the results look like my memories... but just got the Nikkor, still to shoot with it. I find the Industar capable and a pleasure to use, but pedestrian.

Next on the list: Summicron, Jupiter, Nokton...
best,
Alex
