I checked all over but I still can't tell whether my Leica is female or male. It's so coy.
Joe,
If you enjoy the time you spend with your Leica, then that's a clue!
Cheers,
Juan

By my count, "maggieo" is going 2/3 film and 1/3 digital. Nice to know that some are still straddling the fence. Have you had your lenses updated with the electronic "dots" the new bodies use?
I only own one, an M4-2 that I bought new in 1983. Not being a pro, I can't see spending the loot for a new M9. But then I probably was a little crazy in 1983, too!! I have three lenses -- 35-50-90 -- and spent a good bit less than they would cost now.

I had the M8 before I had any of the others. I started out with LTM Voigtländers and Milich LTM-2-M8 mounts, which can be durably coded for the M8 and M9.

I'm a long time lurker here and I visit this site nearly every day to see what's been going on.
I have 2 x Leica M, 2 x Mamiya 6MF, 1 x Xpan and some folders.
I get a lot of great knowledge here and always have few laughs along the way as well. I love the humour and casual banter that goes on.
I owe a lot of thanks to many of you guys and girls here....last week my 35mm summilux pre asph arrived because of the images and info about this lens on the 'summilux 35mm pre-asph shots' thread and.........
I've just souped up 2 rolls of Arista Premium 400 (aka Tri X) because of the posts by Juan Valdenebro on the ' Rodinal Newbie - Tri X 400 advice????' thread!
Thanks all!

Hi Kelby,
Good luck with those two rolls! I use Arista Premium all the time... Tri-X is so relaxing!
You have nice cameras... I never tried the Xpan but yet I'm curious... I guess that lux 35 will see some insistent use...
Keep enjoying!
Cheers,
Juan

That's really me
I've been trying to lend my friend one of my M's to no avail. Can you imagine? Someone who doesn't want to use a Leica?

Thanks Juan, I'm thrilled with the summilux.
The Xpan is great fun except I have a hard time keeping the horizons level, I must have one leg shorter than the other or something...nearly all my snaps come out wonky.
If you ever come to Oz I'll lend it to you for a while.
Thanks again,
Kelby

I loved my visit to Oz! What a great place. I went in 2000, around Christmas. I had one of the original Canon "Digital Elph" with me, so the IQ is a bit sketchy, but here's a gallery of shots: http://www.mediawench.com/trips/australia/

Wow Maggie it looks like you had a great time in Sydney.
I live approx 1 1/2 hours away from Sydney up on the coast.
You timed your visit very well, coming over here after the Olympics. It was crazy and accomodation was so expensive while the games were on.
I was working in a camera store/mini lab during the olympics selling eager spectators those Canon Elph's, they were actually quite expensive over here, they were a lot cheaper in USA/Asia. Very cute little camera though.
I hope you come back again soon.

Opps sorry Maggie, I just re-read your post.
You said 'Digital Elph', I meant the APS format Elph.
I don't think the digital version was available in Australia that early.

The only other person with a digital Elph I saw on that trip was a Buddhist monk from the U.K.!
I hope I do get to go back to Oz sooner, rather than later. It's a lovely country!
