I'm just back from a week on the Aran Islands and Skellig Micheal , which has resulted in another 11 rolls of Acros and 6 of tri-x.

Added to by existing backlog, and deducting the 3 rolls I managed to develop today, that leaves me with 10 acros and 18 tri-x still to develop.

Is this this just my inefficiency? - how much of a backlog of develop at home films do you have ?

4.. 20 <> 40
5.. > 40 !
 
Now down to seven from Uzbekistan, three XP2 and four FP4. Hope to get around to bathing the latter today.
 
I only have about 4 rolls that I have to develop myself, but I also have about 10-15 rolls of C41 bw film that have been developed but not taken care of yet. Sometimes I feel like I shoot for the purpose of archiving negatives. ;)
 
I process 5 TX rolls at once in a using EMOFIN in constant rotation.

The 5 rolls paterson tank capacity is exactly 2 liters, so I prepare 1 liter of each dev and during processing, only half of the roll is in th echemicals, and I constantly roll it so no problem...

Only real long tim back logs are for other films or push process that I seldom do..
I think I'll try divided D-76 to see if I can mix types of films.
 
I'm wrapping up my trip around the SF and Bay Area on on tuesday and I've got at least 40 rolls of film taken. hah.
 
It's increasing rather then decreasing. I have now a backlog of about 20-25 rolls of 135 film and 6-7 rolls of 120 film.

Two Tmax, One Trix (400) and one Tri-X that needs a push.

I keep HC-110 in the cupboard . . . so it really isn't a huge issue.

I feel guilty if the backlog gets over five. :-(
 
Hmmm only 3 people who tell the truth on this forum...

I have a large carrier inside the darkroom door, when I run out of reusables, I know I need to dev some, I've enough tanks for 13 at once.

just finished another 4 + 2 120's...
one left - I do feeel guilty as well if my fridge is cluttered with exposed film.

isn't b/w great: film is rather cheap, the development next to nothing and you can shoot like these digital framekillers. i love it.
 
I shoot to see the results, as quickly as possible. Can't imagine having a backlog of more than 4 films. That said, there's still a half exposed roll of fujichrome in my EOS 10 with images of a 2002 trip through Central-America. When the battery went dead and I had bought my D60 I never bothered to get a new one just to rewind the roll.
 
Sometime over the winter, I went on a tear and processed about 50 rolls which had built up, and I swore to myself I'd never again let it go anywhere near that bad. Right now I have 20 rolls going back to March, plus the 7 rolls I shot at a wedding yesterday. Since I make much of my income doing darkroom work for other people, I tend to let my own work go neglected far longer than I should :bang:

(Sort of like the old adage about a carpenter's house always needing the most work...)

I'll start on yesterday's wedding stuff tonight, along with film from a client. The rest of my backlog will continue to wait. As for the four or five rolls I've had sitting from an old bulk roll which must have been shot ten or fifteen years ago, well, if those ever get developed, I'll be suprised if there's anything still on them. Anyone have any idea how long a latent image remains on film that has been refrigerated on and off for many years? If/when I find out, I'll let you know. :bang:
