Since I retired June the first, it is hard to tell Mondays from any other day of the work week. The big clue is that the neighborhood is empty of people. It is quiet and I am alone with my thoughts.

Back to the original question, when I was working I enjoyed some Mondays and disliked others. Probably it depended on what project I was working on. I looked forward to going to work most of the time.

My monday...

I got up at 5 AM, showered, ate something, jumped on my bike and rode through serious rain for 30 minutes, after which I arrived soaked at fortress III (the ruins of the WWI/WWII fortresses around Antwerp are only numbered, not named). I went there to make photographs for the student magazine.

Because the fortress is close to the airport, some of the trees around it need to be cut down. You can imagine: the usual group of tree-huggers chaining themselves to trees, roads, ... blocking the bulldozers and shouting at the police. Followed by riot police unchaining them, using pepperspray, and what-not, quite a bit of brute force on both sides. After two or three hours all activists were arrested and taken to the bureau, they won't be charged with anything but they'll be kept 'administratively' for 12 hours. (after which I'm sure they'll return and play the same game tomorrow morning).

And then I'd go home. At least that was the plan. Appearantly the cops were in a bad mood and thought otherwise (hey, it IS monday), plus I think they were not too happy about some of the pictures I took (quite a bit of aggression that morning, from the activists, sure, but the police didn't really go free either...) so they figured they might as well lock me up for 12 hours too. I don't have an official presspass so they just tell me I'm one of those activists (even though they damn well knew I was not), so what can I do? The idiots took two rolls of exposed film (shot three, had the third one already hidden). So I spent about two hours in jail before I can explain my story to the big chief and he releases me... Didn't see my film back though.

So yeah, stuff happens... But what can I do? Complain or even sue them? Who will verify my story... the fifty cops that were present will deny everything I say and back each other up, and nobody will believe a bunch of anarchistic tree-huggers that would confirm my side of the story...

yeah, just another monday as usual...

I'm petty much indefferent to them. One day is pretty much the same as another to me. What it really boils down to is how many Mondays I have in one week. Only one or two I can handle with ease. More is problamatic.

My sleeping patterns are so messed up I went to bed at 3am, and got up at midday, and I couldn't work out whether I was alive, let alone what day it is!

I work 12 hour shifts for 2 days and 2 nights and rest 4 days. The first day is freaking suicidal and it goes downhill from there.

I sometimes have trouble finding stuff to do other than work on the weekends, so I don't mind when monday comes around and I get to do to work :) :p

I hate them very much... they come in between Sundays and Tuesdays (always my favorite day), right when I need to rest from the weekend.

I been through that resently, work till 9am in the morning and sleep till 7pm. It's bad and somehow you need to get yourself back on track.

Have a 20 hours day, then rest for 5 or 6 hours; keep this going and eventually you will get your body clock back to where it should be.

Having a reason to wake up is also important..

I took three months off work. That was two months ago. Guess I will start hating Mondays in 4-5 weeks from now.

Mondays aren't that bad, as I usually fly back out to the Midwest on Sunday night. The Mondays where I get a 6:00 flight bite it big time...

I don’t hate Mondays. I actually like Mondays. However, I do hate working on Mondays more so than on other days.

This I discovered when I had a job with a flexible workweek. It allowed me to schedule 4 ten-hour working days each week.

I tried:
1. Working Monday through Thursday with Friday off for a long weekend.
2. Working Tuesday through Friday with Monday off for a long weekend.
3. Working Monday & Tuesday and Thursday & Friday; taking Wednesday off to break up the workweek.

Of the three schedules I tried, the Monday off schedule was the one I liked the most. This was how I realized that I hated working on Mondays the most.
