Leica lens --- If it's in mint condition?

Real Men Shoot Film.
A couple of them in NICE condition have sold here on RFF for around $700 recently and one I think sold for much less. I drooled but couldn't afford it....gotta earn some more $$ before I buy anymore Leica lenses. On Ebay they typically go for much more. If you want one, I'd stick around here and watch the classifieds....and be quick if you see something good, the nice stuff sells so fast here I often don't notice it till its sold!

Be very quick. I bought one last week on another forum. A very nice lens in unused condition for a very good price. Fortunately the other forum has a decided digital focus. I didn't have any competition.
Good luck! I haven't seen the slides yet, but the lens handles like a dream. I wanted a 90 M-Hexanon for budget purposes. They sell for $400-$500. When the Elmarit-M came along at an attractive price, I bought it instead.

I've only just bought a mint one from a local dealer for about US$820.
Members are answering, but what are they answering about??
The (I) - 1959 - or the (II) - 1990.
I got my (II) 'as new' for four-hundred fifty Euros, in 2006.
Cheap and interesting. Not a "wow!" signature as in the 24/2.8 ASPH and 35/2 ASPH (or the 21/3.8 SA or 35 pre-ASPH Summilux in 'old-look' terms), but one that approaches these and is far superior to that of the wishy-washy, generic and ultimately uneventful 50/2 (IV)'s.
That's if you are interested in the fingerprint.

Boniface, they probably mean vII, usually v1 is called "Elmarit", and v2 "Elmarit-M".
Bought and sold a clean copy of v2 last year for US 500 or so.
These days my compact 90/2.8 is the M-Hexanon, which I like better. And it usually runs between US 400 and 500.

Paid $850 for my mint one. With box and leica case and I love it.
What didn't you like? I'm curious because I had ambivalent feelings too at one point.I first owned the latest Elmarit 90/2.8 but was unhappy with it.
