How poor or rich are the people of our world?

thank you very much for this Raid, very enlightening indeed, statistics showing the world's population, it's explosion and transformation foreseeing it's 'peaking, possibly without extreme poor
 
I give me intro classes the (free) link for gapminder. I show them graphs (for many countries of the world) with Life Expectancy on the Y axis, and Percent of Women Cigarette Smokers on the X Axis. I get an awkward silence.
