My mirror is sticking a little (Will not go all the way up) and I wonder what is the best method of lubrication.

It might not be a case of re-lubing it as re-tensioning the spring that lifts the mirror out of the way. I have found that Viso 2's are a bit prone to this. You would have to disassemble the housing to get to the spring and usually all it takes is to shorten it a bit - i.e cutting a coil of it.

I dabed a bit of silicone on mine. Spray into a small container and pick it up with a small brush.
It has been working fine for yeqrs now, but it really was the wrong thing to do as they are designed to run dry.

Hi Tom,
Well, I tried to remove the back plate by removing the big black screws on the back. Problem is these screws will not move at all. This thing is built well. Any thoughts on how I can loosen the screws. I was thinking of a certain type of screw driver. Maybe a solvent like WD 40 in very small amounts. I think your Idea of re tensioning the spring makes sense to me.

Did you take apart your Visoflex when you used the silicon? Where exactly did you apply the lubricant?

WD-40 to the rescue!!
I used a little WD-40 with a fine brush applied on either end of the mirror where it mets the arm that moves the mirror support. Now it moves flawlessly! Thanks for all the help and suggestions. If anybody else has this problem, they will do well to read this thread. I did not have to take anything apart thank God.

wd40 is not a lubricant. its a solvent. it will still need to be cleaned up, its a matter of time.

I did not take apart the viso. I put a dab on the pivot points of the mirror.
Do not get generous with this stuff or it will get all over the place.

Thanks for the info on WD-40. I only used a very small trace amount with a fine hair brush on the pivot points. All I can say is that I am happy and it worked. No smell at all too.
