You can get rid of it. Just delete it from the HTML. Quote my post so you can see what I did.

First, paste your BBCode into something like Notepad, or a word processor. On the first line, get rid of the first bits of info within the brackets (including the brackets), so that the code starts with [/img]https:..., which is the second set of brackets.
After the ending [/img], delete the code between it and the title.
After the title, delete the code until you reach the word "by".
This should clean up the extraneous code appearing with your photos. Copy this shortened version, then paste into RFF. This method is especially useful when doing multiple photos.

in flickr click on "view all sizes" of the photo, chose the size you want, right click on the image, choose "copy image URL", click on the "insert image" tab when posting, paste the copied URL, works for me.
Doing it this way won't let you link back to your image on flickr. Its a violation of their terms of use. But more importantly it won't get you all those views and faves that people go nuts for

If you click on the photo it takes you right to the photo on flickr.

views & faves ... we want more, More, MORE ...
I also just paste the BBC code to the reply and then just delete the unnecessary part. It is relatively fast with rather few clicks.

For many moons I've been posting pictures from Flickr to RFF using the Flickr BBCode. Since a few weeks, however, this method results in a string of unwanted code appearing underneath my pictures. Inside RFF you can't get rid of this string. Grateful for any advice how to avoid this problem. Many thanks, P
Sure you can. Just edit your post and delete it after the fact. It's a kludge, but it works.

you are right. Actually I like views and favs, don't want to violate terms and clicking on the image does not lead me to flickr as John says, at least it doesn't for me.
It's just that, when I tried, the BCode hadn't worked for me and this is the only work around, and an easy one, that I had found and incidentally it does what the OP asked for
let me try now if the BBCode works:

oh, it works, and as mentioned, I don't mind the links provided, on the contrary

Hello
After much research I still can't find a way to upload images from my iphone photo library.
My files are too big so I use a resizer app which lowers quality drastically at the required 500x500. Plus i'm not very computer literate.
Any advice most welcome!

Here's a visual guide:
1. select the image in Flickr and click on the "Share Photo" icon at lower right (the curved arrow icon)
2. Select HTML and Flickr image size as shown, then copy all of the highlighted code
3. Paste the code into a text editor then select the image address which appears after the src=" (you can see it highlighted here in blue) and copy it.
4. Paste this into the "add image" dialog box in the RFF thread
and click OK
5. It should look like this:
then post quick reply

Cheers,
There is a less convoluted way of doing this, depending on your browser. Go to "view all sizes". Choose the image size that you want. Right click on the image. In Google chrome, select "copy image url". In IE, select "copy". This will copy the image url. I think that Firefox works the same as Chrome. Then follow the rest of the instructions above.

Thanks lynnb and Greyscale. Both methods work!

For those of you trying to do this on an iPad, you may have noticed since the last Flickr change that you can't easily copy the highlighted BBCode using Safari or Chrome browsers. What works for me was to get the Puffin browser, which runs a virtualized desktop browser via a remote server, giving me now the ability to navigate these embedded screens much easier. I still browse using Safari, but switch to Puffin when needing to copy or paste some code.

It has been a while since I've included an image on a thread and the Flickr account has long gone.
What is there best way to insert an image into a thread?
Thanks,
Steve.

If itis on your website, right click the photo on your site, choose "Copy Image Location" and then paste it into RFF's image dialogue box that comes up when you push the image button when writing a post.

You need a place to host the images. Can then grab the URL code of the image and click on the forum image insert link to insert the URL code.
