How to post pictures in threads

I must be doing something wrong.

I uploaded the same photo to Flikr and 500px. Inserting the image from Flikr:

"['IMG']http://www.flickr.com/photos/101214548@N06/9659069980/['/IMG']"

..snip...

You are uploading the images as direct links from Flickr, which doesn't work. The recent redesign changed the location of the respective buttons, but you want to copy&paste the "BBCode" not the actual URL

which starts with something like "

Posting images only produces thumbnail

Posting images only produces thumbnail

I've done a search, but come up empty. When I post an image to one of the forums, Fuji X-Por1 for instance, only a thumbnail of the image appears. Then one has to click on this for the full size image to appear.
Is there a way to just upload the full sized image and have it appear within the forum?

Thanks.

That's what happens when you attach an image.

Upload it your member gallery, then click on "Insert Image" and cut & paste the image's link from your gallery

Reposting this from another thread:

Can you please tell me how to resize an image on here? I am so frustrated because I am trying to upload images and they blow up much too large. I am using wordpress.

Here is an example:
http://stillthrill.files.wordpress.c.../11/image_.jpg

What sort of parameters can I pass into the IMG HTML element to make it within 500px wide?

Also, if the moderator is listening, why not have responsive HTML and CSS where the thread automatically resizes the images to your screen? (Use flexbox, its amazingly easy!!!). Oh - and don't worry about supporting IE 7 or 8, just leave them in the dust and force people to migrate :).

I can use Flickr w/o problems. I was wondering if it was possible to post full size (~850-1000 pixel width) directly from my computer. In other words, not using a hosting site. Maybe not?

How about a procedure for linking to an image housed in Zenfolio?
  1. In ZF, display the desired gallery.
  2. From the My Zenfolio dropdown choose Edit this Photo.
  3. Click on the desired photo.
  4. In the right column, click Share.
  5. Click Direct link to images.
  6. Click the desired size.
  7. Right-Click (PC) and choose Copy (to clipboard).
  8. Back in RFF, click the Insert Image button.
  9. Paste the URL into the field.
  10. Click OK.
Unfortunately the Insert Image Button no longer exists (at least in the threads I'm trying to post to)

Any workarounds?

Have u tried using hard coded "
 "
" between the URL. This is essentially what the image button did.

Example.. Remove quotes of course. I am using them so the forum sw doesn't try to embed an image.

When I go to "Gallery", then to "Upload Photos," and try the trick you described, I get the unending march of the green squares that goes for hours. Same thing happens if I don't use your method. The file I'm uploading isn't that big, it was made with an I-phone and resides in Photobucket.

Ok, I'm following the directions on insertion via a URL and all I get displayed is a little blue square with a question mark inside. Are there different instructions or incompatibilities with Safari?

Flickr dropped BB Code...Now what?

Flickr dropped BB Code...Now what?

What can we Flickr users do to post photos here now that they have dropped the BB Code? I don't want to have to start resizing files to attempt to upload them to the RFf server, which just doubles my workflow, not to mention having to keep track of it all. Will the HTML code work here? Their Embed doesn't do any good, as I found out last night.

via my usual method. I seem to still have the option for BBCode under the "share this via" icon.

Correction: I still see the "Grab HTML/BBCode" below the "Share Via" when I click on the box-with-an-arrow icon.

I'm like farlymac in that my image view screen seems to have chenged to a new format today. There is no BBcode option under the 'Share' menu now.

Just a check............this worked - click on the arrow / box thingy then on the little notice board pin widget then select the image size you want to use, and then copy and paste the url that appears to this forum. I admit I prefer the old style Flickr as its a known quantity and is not too objectionable in appearance but it looks as if that's no longer an option (up to now you had a choice as to the layout used on your own page -old style or new).

It work a bit different now. under the share icon choose the thumbtack icon then pick the size and copy/paste..
