how to record audio for slideshows?

Can anyone recommend a pair of microphones or a single point stereo mic ?

I got an Olympus LS-10 late last year after being really impressed by the magnum in motion series and now have them all on my ipod via itunes podcast download.
( My favorite for audio is http://inmotion.magnumphotos.com/essay/bolivia ).

However I'm too busy taking pictures and find handholding the audio recorder too much of a distraction, so I've not used it as much as I would have liked.
Having mics clipped on a bag would mean I can let it run picking up the general background atmosphere.

Normally it would be on a table in front of them; about three feet away is usually fine if the room's not too ambient. I have experimented with clip on mics, which can work better depending on the situation.

I;ve just remembered you will need one more piece of kit if you go for the iPod option - a back-up battery. I use a Tandy one that cost around $25, and is good for interviews up to at least four hours long (!)/

BTW, I'm certainly not decrying the other options - this one is reliable, cheap, and would be good enough quality to be used on, say, a radio documentary (I have sold such snippets in the past).

if you want high quality wav recordings (not saying you do but IF) you want a higher sd card capacity i reckon.

the option is to carry a few cards and swap them out as need be.

If the info I have is correct, then the Zoom H2 does take 2GB sd cards only, too. So in any "lower" price section case, one would have to carry at least two cards, right?
