Hi, does anyone know how to do this? (please don't ask me why I need to:()

I have removed the 3 silver screws from the cover, the film advance lever and the coldshoe, plus the black screw near the lens (just in case). The top plate now appears to be free on the left (VF) side but it is still stuck on the right side. It almost feels like there may be a hidden screw under the plate that says "YL" but that is so flimsy I am afraid I wouldn't be able to get it off without damaging it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, so there was a hidden screw under the nameplate, but it doesn't actually go through the top cover, it just adds quite a bit of clamping force to it. Given how thin the cover is and how tight it fits on the right side even with all the screws out, I doubt it would be possible to remove without damage unless the hidden screw is also taken out. The nameplate appears to be held on with something resembling the old-style gum adhesive they used to use on shoes. I was able to remove it with a small screwdriver with some cardboard underneath to prevent marring the black paint. It came off slightly bent but being brass it straightened out nicely and the white paint in the "YL" letters is still intact.

Now I'm in!

Scott :)
