While it is better to believe in something rather than nothing (nihilism), I pray for your soul, Ash! 🙂 Besides, Satan only exists in the hearts of mankind. Satan as a "person" was created by the Christian church to scare and coerce people into going to church to make contributions. (Again, just my opinion.)

FrankS exactly. I don't believe there is any such deity. 'Satan' the invention just stands to prove the human hypocrisy. I have had sex, and will do so up until I get married (from then I plan on having my genitalia removed) but according to some religions I am already damned. To be fair, from birth you have the Original Sin.

I understand there is an energy around us (more pagan than anything) but at the risk of being flamed, I don't agree with most religions, not least Christianity that I had shoved down my throat from birth. Call it rebellion if you like 😉


At least this way, as long as I show respect to all creatures, and don't expect an afterlife when I die, I can continue with a fair albeit slightly selfish dogma. I hope I haven't offended anyone, as far as I can remember, it is against Satanism to offend those who have not offended you (or something - basically don't be a cocky lil nit) 🙂

Ash, the Peruvians had plenty of weapons at the time that the Spanish appeared. The Inca ruler Atahualpa had a huge army, and had just consolidated his rule by defeating his half-brother in a civil war. They just did not have any weapons that were effective against Spanish troops armed with metal swords and firearms, and borne by armored war horses. Jared Diamond tells the story in the book Guns, Germs and Steel. Fascinating book.

I don't think either side had rangefinders, though.
